I know I have posted previously about my son (8 now), and all the hellish trouble I had with his former school and just education in general. Anyway, we had the Educational Tribunal 27th January, and we won everything we were asking for. So the educational authority has to provide funding to his new school to meet all the needs he has. We also have it specified as to which professionals have to go into school, how often, and how much time per term they have to spend on therapy and how much time they have to spend on admin, liaising with parents and teachers, training, writing reports, overseeing social skills group etc etc per term. So i've got about the best I can do for now. And his Statement (equivalent to USA IEP) is actually the best I have ever seen. Even the kids in the special autism unit don't get the things my son is going to give. So, the lesson out of this is to make sure all of you, whether you are adults or have children on the spectrum as well, is to make sure that you are getting what you are entitled to.
